In the state of Wyoming any person found using or under the influences of marijuana is subject to a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of 6 months imprisonment and a maximum fine of $750, or both. Federal marijuana laws are very serious, and the punishment for people found guilty is frequently very harsh. Federal law still considers marijuana very dangerous illegal a drug with no relation to medicinal purposes. Most of the uses for medical marijuana is extracted through hemp. Hemp comes from cannabis sativa plant and hemp does not contain enough THC to get you high. These tasks are time consuming, labor intensive and not rewarding. To make matters worse, harvesting crops rarely gives farmers anything in return, which makes their work frustrating. Farmers who sacrifice their labor to a non-rewarding job is a serious issue in agriculture. Music2 Essay Music has been around for thousands of years. Music appeals to everyone. When was the last time you have heard someone say, I hate all music.? Lately though music has been criticized for corrupting teens minds. Rap is being blamed for all the crimes and murders in cities all over America and heavy metal is being blamed for giving teens only dark images and thoughts in their minds. Although the media and public criticize rap and rock music and blame the music for influencing teens negatively, they actually give many teenagers an outlet from their life problems. Parents love to blame musicians like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre to bands like KoRn and Limp Bizkit for their childs problems. Music is an excuse for bad parenting. One should look at the family background of the person committing the crimes (Foster 3). Most criminals come from dysfunctional families, which would explain why a person would turn to crime in life. Another reason a person would turn to crime is being sexually abused as a young child. This would definitely cause a person to go a little crazy. When someone hears some lyrics from Eminem, they do not go out and do what he says. Lyrics from Eminem and other similar lyrics are for entertainment only. If people did whatever they heard, then everybody would be evil and corrupted I hear far worse words and phrases during school than on a rap album, and the words do not effect me or anybody else otherwise everybody in school would run around shooting people and doing drugs. Rappers are blamed constantly for crimes. In 1988, rapper Ice-T was under the gun from the media because of a song he wrote called, Cop Killa. Once that song was released several police murderers said they did it because of Ice-Ts song. But is it Ice-Ts fault fore these crimes, or is it the fault of the person committing these crimes against the police (Foster 2). Foster asks an interesting question. The answer is no, the musician should not be the one blamed for these crimes. Police officers were being shot all the time before that song. All cops know that their jobs are dangerous, yet they still take the job. Also a group called Three Six Mafia had a similar experience to Ice-Ts. They were banned from almost every state in the north and the south because of a song they wrote called Tear the Club Up. Whenever the group performed this song, a riot broke out. This is not the groups fault though. The people who cannot control themselves are the ones to be blamed. The media was quick to jump out and say that the riots were a direct result of the so called Gansta Rap, not the result of the out of control people in the crowd. Rap music is a rapidly growing type of music. It has gotten many poverty stricken people out of the ghetto. Also, rap musicians donate thousands and thousands of dollars to charities all over America When do you hear the media give them credit for that? The media always looks for the worse in all stories. Rap also gives many young people hope in life. When a teenager has problems in life, music can always help them feel better. Rap musicians rap about their life. So if a person complains about the rap lyrics, then they could make a difference by fixing up poverty stricken communities. Once a rapper makes a second album, it is usually less graphic because they know a different life. They will rap about being rich and coming from some of the worst communities in America Fatherhood is another subject for rappers as they mature into a better life. Master Harold We have all heard the saying that the rich keep getting richer while the poor keep getting poorer. This somewhat describes South Africa in the 1950s. During this time in Africa, the white people kept getting more powerful while the black population kept getting weaker. South Africa's apartheid system gave powerful odds to the whites and created a racist society. In "Master Harold" ... and the boys, a book set around the 1950s and during the apartheid system, the racist attitudes from the apartheid system and Hally's parents affected how Hally treated Sam and Willie, who are black and work for Hally's mother. These attitudes over-shadowed the good relationship Sam and Hally had built through most of Hally's childhood. "Apartheid was a system that deliberately set out to humiliate black people, even to the point of relegating them to separate benches, entails the danger of habitual indifference to the everyday detail that shape black and white relationship and finally, perverts them." (Durbach 69). South Africa passed laws and acts making the black people's lives degrading and ensured the white superiority. Four laws were passed in 1950 which included the Population Registration Act, Group Areas Act, the Amendment to the Immorality Act, and the suppression of the Communism Act. These laws did several things including classified people by color, governed areas for living according to race and controlled ownership of property, prohibited sexual contact across racial lines, and removed due process of laws for blacks. (Durbach 69). Apartheid was used in South Africa because the whites, while a minority in the population, wanted to be in control of the government and society. The way anything that is smaller in size, and therefore weaker, is able to get power is through intimidation. The whites made themselves more powerful by making the blacks feel inferior. The blacks were told they were not good enough and therefore had to be separated from the whites. The whites belittled and separated themselves from the blacks so they wouldn't feel guilty for what they were doing to them. If you make someone become something other than human and lower its level, you don't think you are hurting another person. For instance owners of pets do not feel guilty when you tie up a dog, or let a pet sleep outside. Your pet is just an animal therefore they do not mind or expect much different. Apartheid was more than racial prejudice legislated in South Africa. It became an everyday belief. Racism became part of everyday living it was part of schooling, home life, government, and even on public display such as park benches. It taught society that a seventeen-year old boy was master over two black men. In the book, Hally is quoted as saying to Sam, "Because that is exactly what Master Harold wants from now on. Think of it as a little lesson in respect, Sam, that's long overdue." (Fugard 55) As in the book, a white boy was respected and looked upon as being higher and better than the black men. In any other traditional society, a child is to show respect to any adult, no matter what their color or background. The apartheid system lowered the blacks to a level lower than children, which was very humiliating, especially for an adult man. The most important influence on a child is its parents. The parents' actions, behaviors, and beliefs are passed on to their children. So many white children from South Africa grew up with parents having racist beliefs and not knowing anything different. Hally's parents both had racists beliefs which influenced his attitude towards Sam and Willie. Hally's mother owned a caf?, which employed Sam and Willie, but she never saw them as anything other than servants. "My mother is right. She's always warning me about allowing you to get too familiar." (Fugard 53) She took for granted their loyalty and didn't appreciate all they did for her business and her son. "All that concern you in here, Sam, is to try and do what you get paid for -- keep the place clean and serve the customers. In plain words, just get on with your job. . . You're only a servant here, and don't forget it." (Fugard 53) Hally's father was worse in his racist attitude. His father always wanted Hally and his mother to take more control over the "boys". He wants Hally and his mother to restrict Sam and Willie's freedom so they will understand who is in control and to learn to respect them

Throughout her life she searches for blue eyes because she thinks that she is able to obtain blue eyes she will be able to obtain beauty and therefore social acceptance. Pecola has no friends other then Claudia and Frieda and she is ridiculed by the other kids around town. She is abused by mostly everyone she comes in contact with and she is effected emotionally. Pecola never fights back because she does not have the inner strength for it so therefore she is always the victim. She lives in a society that says beauty is good and ugliness is bad, and without reassurance from her family right in the beginning her self-image of herself is extremely poor. Pecola is ostracized and rejected throughout her entire life and mostly due to her lack of beauty. She is rejected by her mother, the kids in her town, and eventually by society. Pecola Breedlove is rejected by her own flesh and blood, her mother. Pauline Breedlove has been rejected by society herself because at an early age she had stepped on a nail and so whenever she walked her foot flopped, but she takes out on her own rejecting by rejecting her daughter. When she sees her daughter face she only sees ugliness and this angers her, for she only wants what society perceives to be beauty and her own past disrupts the present for her and effects the way her family acts. She uses her love on the Fishers who are her white employers and lets her dysfunctional family fall apart. She does not show any of her family love and just despises their ugliness. Claudia says, It may have been nervousness, awkwardness, but the pan tilted under Pecolas fingers and fell to t the floor, splattering blackish blueberries everywhere. Most of the juice splashed on Pecolas legs, and the burn must have been painful, for she cried out and began hopping about just as Mrs. Breedlove entered...
